Perth Airport Transfer Minibus: How Group Transfers Work in 2026
Written by Perth Mini Charter | Reviewed by Vaibhav Sharma, Founder and Director, Perth Mini Charter | Published [13-10-2026]
A Perth airport transfer minibus is the simplest way to get a group from arrivals to your hotel, venue or home. One driver meets everyone at the airport, loads the bags and takes the whole group to the same address. You don’t have to work out how many taxis you need, or watch half the group leave in one car while the rest wait for another.
That’s the short version. Below is how a Perth airport transfer minibus works in practice, and what to check before you pay a deposit.
Quick answer
- A Perth airport transfer minibus is a pre-booked 12 to 45 seater with a professional driver
- Your driver tracks your flight, so a late landing doesn’t cost you the booking
- Choose the size by passengers and luggage, not passengers alone
- Get a fixed price in writing, with waiting time and fees listed
Quick tip: Send your flight number and terminal when you book. Those two details do more to protect your pickup than anything else, because they let the driver plan the right spot and track any delay.
What is a minibus airport transfer?
It’s a private group transfer. You book a vehicle and a driver for your flight, and they take your party door to door. You’re not sharing with strangers, and there are no detours to drop other people off.
Perth Mini Charter has moved groups around Perth since 2006, so airport runs are routine for us. If you already know what you need, our minibus airport transfer Perth service page has the details and a quote form.
How does a Perth airport transfer minibus work?
- Send your details. Date, flight number, group size, how many big bags, and where you’re going.
- Get a fixed quote. It should list waiting time, tolls and any airport fees, so the number you’re given is the number you pay.
- Your driver tracks the flight. Early or late, the pickup moves with you.
- Meet at arrivals. You’ll be told where to find the driver before you land. They help with the bags.
- Travel together. One vehicle, one arrival time, straight to your hotel, venue or home.
Book the return trip at the same time. It’s one less thing to sort out when you’re packing.
Minibus, taxi, rideshare or train?
It depends on the size of your group and how much you’re carrying.
| Option | Best for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Airport transfer minibus | Groups of 8 to 45 with luggage | Needs booking in advance |
| Taxis | Solo travellers and pairs | Large groups need several cars and a queue |
| Rideshare | Small groups, short trips | Surge pricing, car size limits, cars arrive separately |
| Train (Airport Line) | Light luggage, trips to the city | About 18 minutes from Perth Station to Airport Central, then a walk to T1 or T2 (source) |
The train is a good option if you’re one or two people with a backpack heading to the CBD. Add suitcases, wedding outfits or sports bags, and a minibus is far less stressful.
Check your terminal before you book
Perth Airport has four terminals. According to Destination Perth’s airport guide, T1 and T2 share one precinct, and T3 and T4 sit in a second precinct about a 10-minute drive away. International flights use T1 and T3, and domestic flights use T1, T2, T3 and T4. Perth Airport’s Terminal Transfer Bus links them.
Why does that matter? Because 10 minutes is a long wait if your driver is at the wrong end. Look at your ticket, and send the terminal with your booking. If part of your group is arriving on a different flight, say so up front so each pickup can be planned.
Which size minibus do you need?
Seat count and comfortable capacity aren’t the same thing once luggage comes into it.
- 12 seater: comfortable for 8 to 10 people with bags. Works for families and small teams.
- 13 seater: a good fit for a wedding party or friends arriving together.
- 16 seater: the right choice for 13 to 16 people with luggage, such as sports teams or hens and bucks groups.
- 24 seater and up: better than booking two vehicles, for example for conference delegates or school groups.
If you’re unsure, go up a size. Our 12 vs 13 vs 16 seater guide covers it in more detail, and the best mini bus hire Perth guide compares every option.
What if your flight is delayed?
Your driver watches your flight number, so a delay shouldn’t mean a lost booking. Before you confirm, ask two things: how long is waiting time included after landing, and what happens if the flight arrives very late at night? [Vaibhav: add your actual waiting-time policy here, in one sentence.]
Why book ahead?
Perth is busier than it used to be. Perth Airport welcomed a record 18.39 million passengers in FY26, up 5.2 per cent on the previous year, and international passengers grew 12.5 per cent in 2025. More people means longer queues for taxis and rideshares at peak times. With a booked driver, your group walks straight to the vehicle.
A fortnight or two ahead is usually fine. For weddings, school holidays, Christmas functions and long weekends, book earlier.
What affects the price?
- Distance: Fremantle, Joondalup, Mandurah and Rockingham all price differently
- Vehicle size: a bigger bus costs more in total, but less per person
- Time of day: very early, late-night and public holiday runs can cost more
- Waiting and extra stops: these get added to the quote
- Extras: child seats and oversized luggage
Always ask for the total in writing. Prices change by date and season, so get a current quote rather than trusting an old figure. Our minibus hire cost guide explains the factors in more depth.
Who books airport minibus transfers?
- Families arriving together
- Corporate teams going straight to a meeting or conference
- Wedding guests moving between the airport, hotel and ceremony
- Sports teams travelling with kit bags
- Tour groups starting a Swan Valley or South West trip
Your pre-booking checklist
Have these ready: flight numbers, passenger and big-bag counts, terminal, drop-off address, and a fixed quote that lists waiting time, tolls and fees. Check seatbelts and air-conditioning for every seat.

Perth airport minibus FAQs
How much does a minibus airport transfer cost in Perth?
There’s no single flat rate. A Perth airport minibus transfer is priced by distance, vehicle size, time of day, waiting time and extras like child seats, and late-night or public holiday runs can cost more. Ask for a fixed written quote that lists waiting time, tolls and fees, so you know the total before you book.
What size minibus do I need for 10 people with luggage from Perth Airport?
A 12 seater is comfortable for 8 to 10 people with bags, so it’s the minimum for a group of 10 with luggage. For 13 to 16 people, a 16-seater is the better fit. For larger groups, a 24 seater or bigger usually works out better than booking two vehicles.
Will a Perth airport minibus driver wait if my flight is delayed?
Yes. The driver tracks your flight number, so an early or late landing moves your pickup with it. Before you book, confirm how much waiting time is included after landing and what happens on very late arrivals.
Which Perth Airport terminal will the minibus pick me up from?
The driver meets you at the terminal your flight arrives at, so send it with your booking. T1 and T2 sit in one precinct and T3 and T4 in another, about a 10-minute drive apart, according to Destination Perth’s airport guide. The right terminal matters.
Is a minibus cheaper than taxis or rideshare for a group of 10?
Usually, yes. Ten people typically need three or more taxis or rideshares, each paid separately, and the group arrives in different cars. One minibus means one price, one pickup and one arrival time.
How far ahead should I book an airport minibus in Perth?
Two to four weeks ahead is normal. Book earlier for weddings, school holidays, Christmas functions and long weekends, when vehicles fill first.
